Verena Gehring Schnoor was born in Switzerland and came to America in 1864 to Tilden, Wis. She married in 1873 to Christ Schnoor and lived on the homestead north of Bloomer ever since. 11 children were born to them, a boy and girl dying young. Survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 9 children: Mrs. Henry Misfelt; Mrs. William Marquardt, Mrs. A. J. Martin, Mrs. John Pingle, Miss Lou Schnoor, David, Otto, and Alvin all of this community. 
Burial in Schnoor Cemetery (previous name of Pleasant Valley Cemetery).
