OBITUARY : EDNA PEARL (KENNEDY) HENICLE, 84, of 337 Northfield Ave., Waynesboro, died at 1:48 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2001, in Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past two years and critically ill for the past two weeks. Born March 8, 1916, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Warren Scott and Mary Catherine (Maun) Kennedy. She lived her early life in the Chambersburg area and then moved to Antrim Township. Mrs. Henicle attended Clay Hill School. She and her husband, Leigh R. Henicle, were married Dec. 24, 1938, in Harrisonburg, Va. They moved to the present residence in March 1964. Mr. Henicle died Nov. 26, 1973. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greencastle, where she was a member of the Women's Bible Class and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA). Mrs. Henicle was a loving wife and caring mother and loved taking care of her family. Mrs. Henicle is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Greifzu of Waynesboro and Cheryl A. Kuehl of Beloit, Wis.; four-grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; one sister, Elva J. Cool of State Line; one brother, Jacob Kennedy of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Henicle was preceded in death by a grand­daughter, Andrea Kuehl, in 1988; three sisters, Alice Hykes,Matilda Kennedy and Hilda Cosey; and eight brothers, Walter Kennedy, Ralph Kennedy, Lester Kennedy, Ira Kennedy, Raymond Kennedy, Orville Kennedy, Warren Kennedy and Frederick Kennedy. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Martin H. Horn officiating. It was Mrs. Henicle's request that there be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
