Mordecai had at least one brother, Edward, and no other siblings are known at this time. Mordecai married Mary Parsons after October 10th, 1683 and they had at least 13 children between the years of 1685 and 1713. Mordecai and Mary lived and raised all of there children near West River, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Mordecia owned several tracts of land as follows: 170 acres called "Cumbers Ridge", a 116 acre tract called "Locust Neck",and 50 acres which was part of a 155-acre tract known as "Papa Ridge" ; the remaining 105 acres was possessed by Widow Hurst.Papa Ridge was located in the Herring Creek Swamp.Mordecia also was responsible for his deceased brother-in-law Anthony Hollands land, a 18 acre tract, known as "Hollands Orphans". 1707 RENT ROLL In a rent roll dated 1707 and covering the West River Hundred of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, "Mordica" Price was listed as the possessor of a 170 tract known as Cumbers Ridge.The 1707 rent was 3 shillings and 5 pence, and the land was located at the head of the branch of Deep Creek near the 3 islands in the swamp.This land was originally surveyed for John Cumber Jr. on July 10, 1663. Mordecai Price died in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 1715, at the age of about 55.Mordecia was often refered to as a "planter", probably being a tabacco farmer. Mordecia was fairly wealthy, owning at least 345 acres of land. Mary, his wife died before June of 1718 at about age 51. In her will she left property to her heirs to include slaves, furniture, and money.
