THOMAS BYRD FROM WILLIAM GILBERT & HEIRS OCT 25, 1819 - Robertson Co., TN Deed Book O, p. 352-354 This Indenture is made this Twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and nineteen between William Gilbert, Cassy Gilbert his wife, William Pate & Jane Pate his wife, Benjamin Philips & Nancy Philips, his wife, Webster Gilbert & Susanna Gilbert, his wife, William Byrd and Joseph Byrd being the ligal Heirs of William Byrd Dec'd all of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Thomas Byrd of the same State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid by the said Thomas Byrd the receipt and payment we the said William Gilbert & wife, Webster Gilbert & wife, Wm. Byrd & Joseph Byrd has to a certain tract or parcel of land that Wm. Byrd Dec'd in his life time purchased of David Beard dec'd being date the 4th day of April 1796, Situated, lying and being in the County and State above mentioned on Red River Beginning at a White oak on the West side of a fork of Red River South one hundred and fifty poles to a red oak, thence East crossing said branch two hundred and twenty seven poles to a scrub oak in barron ground thence North one hundred and fifty poles to a dogwood, West two hundred and twenty seven poles to the Beginning containing two hundred thirteen and on third acres. Also one other tract of land that the said William Byrd Dec'd purchased in his lifetime of Jonathan Magnefs dec'd being date the 7th day of March 1800, situated, lying and being in Robertson County and State aforesaid on Red River. Beginning at a red oak on the West side of a fork of Red River thence South one hundred and fifty poles to a popular & White oak, thence East two hundred and twenty seven poles to a red oak and White oak. Thence North one hundred and fifty poles to a Scrub oak in barren ground thence West two hundred and twenty seven poles to the beginning containing two hundred thirteen and one third acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid tracts of land with all and singular the rights, profits, embe____ hind______ments and appertances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use of his forever and the said William Gilbert & wife, Wm. Witnesseth that the said David Beard for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds currency to me in hand paid by the said Wm Byrd the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge. Stringer to be overseer of said Road from Byrds Fork to the mouth of Simmons branch and it is ordered that Tho. Kilgore, Jr., & Wm.
