Edward Henry Rewerts was born on June 4, 1922, in Lynn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. He was the son of Ibling and Tillie (Aswegan) Rewerts. Ed was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota as a child and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota. He received his education at Heatwole and Lakeside country schools. 

On June 18, 1950, Ed was united in marriage to Emma Boven at the First Presbyterian Church of Grundy Center, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with five daughters. Ed and Emma resided and farmed in Grundy County, Iowa and later moved to his family farm in Boon Lake Township, Renville County, Minnesota. They then moved to their own farm in Collinwood Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. In 1989, Ed and Emma moved to their lake home on Lake Washington in Meeker County and then moved to Hutchinson in 1996. They shared 60 years of marriage. 

Ed farmed his entire life, except for one year when he hauled gravel. He retired from farming in 1989. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. 

Ed enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife, Emma in their RV. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Ed passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital in Hutchinson, Minnesota at the age of 88 years.

Grandchildren, Jamie Cottom and her husband, Greg, Darin Mielke and his wife, Angela, Michelle Schmeling and her husband, Keith, Krista Dressel, Dawn Strief and her husband, Jeremy, Paul McRaith and special friend, Erin Eisentrager, Daniel Dressel, Eric Dressel and his wife, Sara, Michael Gilmer, Brett Mielke, Megan Gilmer and special friend, Matt Swanson, and Sarah Gilmer; 


Great Grandchildren, Chase and Annika Mielke, Colton Cottom, Lillie and Taylor Boehme-McRaith, Jaymeson McRaith, Haley and Makayla Dressel, Ellie and Ashley Schmeling, and Ethan Dressel; 

Sister-In-Law, Luella Freeseman of Parkersburg, IA;

Ed is preceded in death by his Parents, Ibling and Tillie Rewerts; Daughter, Darlene Marie in 1974, Sister, Gertie Crusoe and her husband, Harold, Brothers, Alvin Rewerts and his wife, Kathryn, Fred Rewerts and his wife, Dina; Herman Rewerts in World War II; and Nephew, Harlan Crusoe.; Sister-In-Law, Marjorie Arends and her husband, Delbert; Brother-In-Law, Melvin Freeseman. -
