Hero Willms was born in Negenmeerten, Ostfriesland, Germany in 1823. Married Ahltje Kohlmann March 3, 1844 in Ochtersum, Germany, daughter of Gerd Kohlmann and Antje Noosten. She was born abt. 1822 in Schoo, Osfriesland, and died 16 Sep 1848 in Negenmeerten. They had one son, Johann Heeren Heinks. Hero came to America in 1867 with his uncle, Dick Stromer, to Illinois. Hero married Tomka Dirks Stromer in Ochtersum, Germany. They had a total of 10 children, 6 born in Germany, one died in infancy. 4 children born in America. A boy died at age 7
