Ross D Stong was born 30 November 1889 in Chesterfield, Fulton, Ohio. His parents were Samuel Harvey Stong (1853-1927) and Phoebe Maria Sheffield (1860-1942). He married Mary Lenora Egnew (1889-1953), daughter of Davis R. Egnew and Lenora L. Denson, 22 May 1918 in Chillicothe, Ohio. Traces his ancestors in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Germany. The family surname was spelled Stang in Germany.
