Coleman Cox was born 16 January 1793 in Jonesborough, Washington County, Tennessee. His parents were Samuel Cox and Catherine Caty Bruce. He married Roxanna W. Foster in 1819 in Charlotte County, Virginia. They had nine children. Coleman died in 1859 in Union County, Tennessee. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee.

Includes Brock, Chittum, Delapp, George, Hankins, Lester, Sallings, Satterfield, Treece and related families.
