"On the five rolls of this microfilm publication, M2042, are reproduced card manifests of over 37,500 alien and citizen arrivals at Calais, Maine, from ca. 1906 to December 24, 1952. In addition, there are a few manifests that document arrivals from 1877 to 1905. The cards are arranged alphabetically and include permanent and temporary arrivals. These records are part of the Records of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Record Group (RG) 85." -- p. 1.

May include name, age, sex, marital status, place of birth, occupation, place of last permanent residence, port and date of arrival, destination, purpose for entering the United States, name and address of the friend or relative the alien intended to join, and other information.

Some records are light and may be hard to read. The original records were destroyed after microfilming.
