Many of the returns of births have printed numbers and handwritten numbers on them which sometimes differ. The handwritten numbers correspond to the numbers listed by each person in the county registers. The years listed for the county registers are approximate birth years covered within a register. Birth years are not always in chronological order. The beginning registration date for New Brunswick is 1888 but due to late registration earlier birth dates are included and are usually found at the end of a register. The registers are organized by registration year which begins in 1888 and goes into the 1930's to 1960's (depending on the county).
