Notes

Matthew Atkinson was born ca. 1595 in England. He and his sons immigrated to Virginia. His son, Thomas died in 1632 in Surry County, Virginia. Also includes descendants of Thomas Gwaltney (ca. 1609-ca. 1664) who died in Surry County, Virginia as well as Richard Williamson (ca. 1593-1652), born in London, married (1) Margaret Browne (2) Margaret Sherwood and died in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Includes descendants of Arthur Allen (ca. 1599-ca. 1670) who married Alice Tucker and later died in Surry County, Virginia.
