Three present-day Arkansas families are the subjects of this genealogical study: 1) Adams, whose probable ancestor is George Washington Adams (ca. 1840-1909), whose mother is thought to have been a Cherokee Indian; 2) Ellington, descended from David Ellington Sr. (b. 1713), married to Martha Tucker in 1732, residents of Prince George County, Virginia; and 3) MacCormack (also spelled McCormack and McCormick), descended from William Dale McCormack (1823-1907), who married Elizabeth Jane Littlejohn and lived in Tennessee and Arkansas. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, California, Arizona, Oregon, Kentucky, Indiana, Washington and elsewhere.
