Descendants of Mary Ophelia Calmes (1894-1930), who was born in Tangi, Independence, La. She was married to Ivy Byron Bennett in 1918. They were the parents of six children, who were all born in Louisiana. The early Calmes ancestor, Marquis de La Calmes (ca. 1675-1741), was born in Lanquedoc, South France, and died in Virginia. His only child was born 1705 in Stafford Co., Virginia. Descendants of René Calmes (1861-1930), who was born in Tangipohoa Parish, La. He was married three times: 1. Martha Dunnington in 1885; 2. Margaret U. Ida Stevens in 1890; and Mary Elizabeth Green in 1905. He had thirteen children, all born in Louisiana. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson F. Calmes (1824-1897) born in Newberry Co., S.C. died in Houston, Texas and his wife, Mary Elenor Rebecca Addison (1829-1922) born in St. Tammany Parish, La. Descendants of Lois Lucille Brown, born 1923 in Los Angeles. She was married to John Emile Boesch, Jr. in 1942 in New Orleans, La. Descendants of Uriah Stevens (1785-1855), born in South Carolina, and died in Louisiana. He was married to Nancy Kevil 1805 in Smithland, Ky. They had twelve children. Descendants of Oleta Abigail Painting (b. 1911), who married Robert

A. Dunnington 1935 and Louis Peter Morse in 1938. She had ten children. Contains descendancy charts only.
