This index was compiled with the help of the York Family History Society from documents held at the Borthwick Institute of Historical Research, St. Anthony's Hall, Peasholme Green, York. "...the bulk of the entries concern parishes/townships in Yorkshire (as then constituted) and Northumberland (Allendale/Hexham area.)"

Volumes 23 (1660-1689) & 34 (1715-1734) compiled by P. W. G. Chilman.

Alphabetical arrangement, by groom's name, of marriage bonds issued from 1750 through 1839, with a bride's index at end of each volume. Information includes ages and places of residence of both parties, date of bond and name and location of church named for the ceremony.
