This Brown family was originally from Ireland. They moved to Charleston, S.C. before 1772. By the early 1800's Archibald and Margaret Brown moved to York Co., S.C., where they possibly died. Family members later live in Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, California and elsewhere. The Bennet family of Holland, later of New York and Pennsylvania. Isaack Adriaense Bennet and his family moved to New Brunswick, N.J. and then ca. 1731 to Bucks Co., Pa. Blackwells were originally of England. They were in Kentucky in the late 1700's, first in Fayette County then in Warren Co., Ky. By 1820 they were in Washington Co., Missouri on to Iron Co., Mo. and then to Warm Springs, Randolph Co., Arkansas to Oklahoma. Slegt/Slect family was also of Holland and later in Ulster Co., N.Y. Wynkoop family ancestor, Pieter Wynkoop, arrived in America in 1639, settling in Ulster Co., N.Y. Family members later migrated to Pennsylvania, Indiana, and elsewhere.
