Jared Michael was born 9 October 1792 in Morgantown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia. He was the son of Casper Michael and great grandson of Paul Michael who immigrated to America in 1739 from Germany. Jared married Mary Kelso 23 December 1815 in Pennsylvania. They lived for a while in Virginia and settled in Indiana ca. 1847. Jared was the father of eleven known children and died prior to 1870 in Linn Co., Oregon. Descendants lived primarily in Oregon and elsewhere.
