The index covers the Deseret News, (Deseret Weekly), the Deseret news; semi-weekly and some of the Deseret evening news. The Deseret semi-weekly and Deseret evening news are indexed for the years 1898-1901. The index is to volume or year and page number but the only paper having continuous pages is the original Deseret news.

The index covers until 1901 although the title page states 1900.
