"Typescript and handwritten transcripts of interviews with ex-slaves from 36 Mississippi counties. The narratives contain information such as their owners' name, parents and occupation on the plantation and other details of their lives as slaves...containing an average of 3 to 4 pages. The arrangement is alphabetical by county and within the county alphabetical by interviewee." -- P. [1].
