The 1895 Wisconsin state census enumerates all the Wisconsin counties which existed in June 1895. The records are on 12 rolls of 35 mm. microfilm which were filmed by the GSU ca. 1979. (They were added to the FHLC in 1979.) Includes only name of head of household. Other household members are enumerated as statistics by race, gender, etc. Also includes schedules which list soldiers and sailors (veterans) living in Wisconsin. Includes about 313,000 names. Does not include American Indians on reservations in Wisconsin.

Name index and images of the Wisconsin State Census taken in 1895. This census only identifies the head of family by name. The rest of the census is statistical. The census does not include American Indians on reservations in Wisconsin. Two additional schedules are included in this census - an enumeration of soldiers and sailors, and an enumeration of the militia.
