"On the 107 rolls of this microfilm publication are reproduced records of tax assessment lists for 24 collection districts established in the State of Pennsylvania by an Executive order of August 11, 1862. The lists were created in the offices of assessors and assistant assessors of Internal Revenue during the period 1862-66. ...The records are part of Records of the Internal Revenue Service, Record Group 58, in the National Archives of the United States." -- P. 1, 3.
