Monongalia County was part of Virginia until 1863 when it became part of West Virginia.
The District Court covered the counties of Harrison, Monongalia, Ohio and Randolph, all now in West Virginia.
Records were presented before the County Court and recorded with the clerk of the court or the county clerk.
Includes deeds and pleas, 1789-1813, for the District Court and the Superior Court of Law.
Includes general indexes (typescript). Many volumes are also individually indexed.
