Reports 1-22 (1903-1933) were prepared by provincial archivist, Alexander Fraser.

Bureau of Archives became Department of Archives in 1920 and by 1928 was Department of Public Records and Archives. Title for the 16th report (1920) is: Report of the Department of Archives for the Province of Ontario. Title for the 17th-22nd reports (1928-1933) is: Report of the Department of Public Records and Archives of Ontario.

The Journal of the House of Assembly of Upper Canada is published separately after 1824 as: Upper Canada. Parliament. House of Assembly. Journal of the House of Assembly of Upper Canada.

2nd (1904) report dealt with the beginnings of British settlement in Ontario, of which the United Empire Loyalists were the pioneers; 3rd (1905) report consisted chiefly of the minutes of the proceedings of the old Land Boards ; 4th (1906) report; 5th (1908) report ; 6th (1909), 8th (1911)-11th (1914) reports include the Journal of the House of Assembly of Upper Canada (title varies slightly) issued under the following title: Journals of the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada for the years ... (numbered as vol. 1 (1792/1804)-v. 5 (1821/1824)); the 7th (1910) and 12th (1915) reports include the Journal and proceedings of the Legislative Council of the Province of Upper Canada issued under the following title: Journals of the Legislative Council of Upper Canada for the years ... (numbered as [vol. 1] ((1793/1819) and vol. 2 (1821/1824) ; 13th (1916) report ; 14th (1917) report ; 15th (1918-1919) report.

Contains transcripts of records dealing with early Ontario history, government records, court records, etc. held by the Archives.

Each volume is indexed.

Annual except for the following years: 1907 and 1908 were published together, 1918 and 1919 were published together and there were no reports published for 1921-1927.
