These records are still being filmed, the projected completion date is sometime in 2001. To speed inputting of the records, the collection has been divided into separate catalog entries by letters of the alphabet. Letters which are not included have not yet been filmed.

These records are referred to as the "Burnt Documents". About 70 percent of these records were destroyed during the Blitz in World War II. Many of the remaining records were badly damaged, but most can be read. Many documents are filed out of order. Stray documents often appear in the middle of totally unrelated files. A second collection of these records was acquired from the Ministry of Pensions. These records represent about 8 percent of the enlisted men serving during this time. They are cataloged in a separate entry which lists 4946 rolls of microfilm. There is also a third collection of these records which includes files that had been removed from the main file and not returned. Records of females serving in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps have also been filmed separately.

Includes files of soldiers who were discharged from the British Army from 1914 to 1920. Many of the soldiers enlisted as early as the 1890's. Also includes files of men who were not accepted for service. May include name, address, age, unit(s) in which served, assignments, medical records, disciplinary records, honors and awards, next of kin, etc.
