Margaret Emily (Jaegers) Schaefer, age 86, of Loose Creek, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Westphalia Hills. Margaret is survived by two sons, Ron Schaefer of Loose Creek and Gene Schaefer (Nancy) of Loose Creek; two daughters, Rita Schaefer of Taos and Kathy Strope (Larry) of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two sisters, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday March 2, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.

Margaret Emily (Jaegers) Schaefer, age 86 of Loose Creek, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Westphalia Hills.

Margaret was born August 16, 1929, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Peter and Catherine (Rustemeyer) Jaegers.

Margaret attended school in Loose Creek.

On December 2, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to Godfrey Schaefer in Loose Creek. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2005.

Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed working on the family farm and she also worked as a cook at Immaculate Conception School for many years.

Margaret was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, St Ann’s Sodality, the Willing Workers Club and the Senior Club.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, tending to her flowers, watching her birds, fishing and spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived by: two sons, Ron Schaefer of Loose Creek and Gene Schaefer and his wife Nancy of Loose Creek; two daughters, Rita Schaefer of Taos and Kathy Strope and her husband Larry of Glen Carbon, IL; two sisters, Hazel Cody of Winchester, IL. and Audrey Partee of O’Fallon, IL; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Rebecca Strope and Krystal, Mary, Jacob and Forrest Schaefer; three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 2, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Louis Nelen as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
