The directory was founded in 1903 and began publication the same year. "With an unbroken record of forty-three annual editions as its background, the Southwest Blue Book for 1947 adds still another to the long series. We believe the 1947 issue will sustain this publication's reputation as the standard society register of Southern California, the book having been carefully revised and brought down to date.
