D-E 1832-1839 Be it remembered that heretofore to wit at a court of common pleas begun and held at the court house in the town of Canton within and for the County of stark and state of Ohio on Monday the fourth day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty three. Letters of administration were granted to John Kepler on the estate of John Kepler, deceased, which is in form the following to wit. Stark County, Ohio___(seals) Jeremiah H. Hallack, President of the fifth circuit of the court of common pleas in said state in which circuit is included the said County of Stark and William Christmas, Jacob Hostler, and John Eberhard, assistant Judges of the said county for the County of Stark aforesaid, in the name and by the authority of the State of Ohio, to all to whom these proceeds shall come greeting Know ye that administration of all and singular the goods and chattles, rights and credits, which were of John Kepler late of Green Township, the the County of Stark aforesaid, deceased at the time of his death, is hereby committed and John Kepler (Jr.), whose duty it shall be (under oath or affirmation) to have all and singular, the said goods, inventories and appraised by John Sorrick, John Foust, and Adam Workinger, householders of the County aforesaid (after setting apart for the wife, her wearing apparel, one bed and bedding, and all the wearing apparel of her deceased husband and such other articles of property as are or may be, by law excepted from execution, and such provisions or other property as the appraisors aforesaid shall think reasonable for the support of herself and children for one year) and make a return of the said inventory, signed by the said appraisers, with a separate sphere? of the property so as a aforesaid set apart to the widow also signed by the said appraisers together with a bill of sale for the goods and chattels of the said deceased, and also the goods taken by the widow at the appraised value made and here an accurate statement of all debts which are due and owing to the estate for the said John Kepler, deceased, to the office of the clerk of the said court aforesaid three months from the dates hereof and being used to adjust and settle the subject page 2 account of his administration within eighteen months from the date of this letter as the law directs. And we do it by these procedes appoint you the son, John Kepler (Jr.) Administrator of all and singular, the goods, chattel, rights, and credits which were of the said John Kepler, deceased, in testimony of which we have caused the seal of our said court to be herewith affixed.
