Degner, 80, died Tuesday, Nov 15, 1988 at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital, Hillsboro, Wisconsin. Degner was born on 16 Jun 1908 in Forest Township, Vernon County, to Lewis and Elma Nofsinger Rich. She grew to adulthood on Burr Ridge and attended Salem School. Tressie married Lawrence S. Markee on March 16, 1928. On 30 Mar, 1949 Tressie married Erwin Degner at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hillsboro. Tressie had lived in Woodstock, Illinois and farmed in Hillsboro Township and lived the city of Hillsboro for the past 15 years. She was active in Homemakers Clubs and served as an officer in Homemakers as a President and Secretary of the Uptown Unit of the arm Bureau. Tressie was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church. Survivors include: Erwin, husband, Hillsboro; one daughter Marlyce Schindler and son-in-law Reuben Schindler of Tomah, WI; 3 brothers, Fred Rich of Reedsburg, Ronald Rich of Baraboo and Avery Rich of Hillsboro. Degner was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Nellie Harris. Friends called at the **** Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral Services were held November 19, 1988 at St. Paul's Lutheran and she was buried at Forest-Burr Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, WI.
