PROVENANCE:
This photo was passed to Wendell Miller upon the death of his mother, Annie Mattson Miller, and his Father. This photo was in a family photo Annie Mattson had in her possession at her death (It probably came via her mother, Eliza Ann Probart Mattson, daughter of Arletta Hutchings Probart), who is the daughter of Shepherd Hutchings and Eliza Ann Pectol Hutchings.

IDENTIFICATION:
These people were identified by Wendell Miller, Gail Miller White and Patricia Sonntag. We are certain of the identity of Arlitta, Shepherd, and Eliza Pectol, and are very confident of the identity of all others.
WHEN:
This photo was taken no later than July 1895 since that is when Shepherd Hutchings died. Asa Hutchings died 18 Nov 1888 and is not shown in this photo, probably because this photo was taken after Asa's death. Asa's death may have been the motivation for this family photo. In this photo I estimate Naomi Hutchings is between 11 years old and 14 years old. She was born 18 March 1877. Using these assumptions, the photo was probably taken between 1888 and 1891. 11 years added to 1877 gives the year 1888 as the earliest, and adding 14 years to 1877 gives 1891 as the latest year this photo may have been taken.
