Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Ewell (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Kent and Surrey (England) to America. In the 1600's, some immigrated to Massachusetts and Virginia. In the 1700's, some settled in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Vermont. During the 1800's, some moved to Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington D.C. Some focus is on (but not limited to) ancestors and antecedents of William Fletcher Ewell (1815-1848), his wife, Mary Lee Bland (1817-1898) and Mary's second husband Peter Jones (c. 1819-1891). Some freed slaves of Ewell progenitors also took on the Ewell surname. William and Mary Ewell were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. William died at Council Bluffs; Mary and their six children went on to Utah, where Mary met and married Peter Jones. She had two more children by Peter. Descendants also lived in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, and elsewhere.
