Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Withrow (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. In the 1700's, some settled in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Robert Withrow (1692-1786), his wife Jean Alderson, and their nine children: Abel, David, Robin, Alderson, Samuel Harrison, Allen, Hannah, Bettie, and Virginia. They settled the Brandywine Creek area of Pennsylvania. Other Withrow progenitors and were among the first to settle the Green Sulphur and Lick Creek regions of Arkansas, and the Cane Creek and Hinton's Creek regions of Rowan County, North Carolina. In 1832, a Tennessee progenitor, Richard Withrow built the historic Withrow Springs Grist Mill in the Ozark Mountains near Hunstville, Arkansas. Some Withrows lived in Oklahoma, and married into the Chickasaw Indian Nation. Others lived in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, and West Virginia in the 1800's. Later families also lived in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
