Microfilm of original records at the Library, Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.
The church was first known as the New Kent Church and formed around 1750. The congregation met for a time in the Old Colonial Church of St. Peter's. In 1840 it was reorganized as the Olivet Church. The name was changed to Providence Forge Church in 1934.
