OBITUARY OF KENNITH JAMES GRINNELL NEWMAN ON FINDAGRAVE.CON

  • On July 12, 2009 Kennith James Newman passed from this life in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Kennith was born on April 18, 1935 in Porter, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Alva (Arnold) Newman. He met his loving wife, Inez Goad in Porter, OK. They were married on July 20, 1954 in Muskogee at Honor Heights Methodist Church. Kennith was a loyal, hardworking, light hearted man. He enjoyed working as a bread man for 20 years and later opened his own diner, the Dipsy Doo. Kennith had a way of making everyone feel like family and made many lifelong friends while running the Dipsy Doo for 24 years. Kennith was a devoted family man. He spent his last years with his great grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed by all of the people whose days were brightened by his joy and laughter. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He is survived by his wife, Inez Newman of the home; daughter, Connie Ross and husband Tim of Muskogee; daughter, Kelly Martin and husband, Keith of Checotah; granddaughter, Tiffany Mullen and husband, Nick of Muskogee; grandson, Brandon Martin and wife, Erienne of Muskogee; granddaughter, Tabbitha Ross of Muskogee; and granddaughter, Channing Grinnell and husband, Ryan of Checotah; three great-grandsons, Zachary Mullen, Kobie Mullen and Jayden Martin of Muskogee and one great-granddaughter, Ellison Grinnell of Checotah; one brother, Sherman Newman and wife, Nedra of Haskell; one sister, Shirley Brown and husband, Willie of Haskell and countless neices, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Alva Newman and one brother, Floyd Newman of Broken Arrow and baby sister Ruth. Funeral services for will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Lawrence Street Baptist Church with Reverend John Curtis officiating. Pallbearers are Tim Ross, Ryan Grinnell, Brandon Martin, Nick Mullen, Keith Martin, and Jim Barrett. Burial will be in Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
