Waiva Iona, daughter, was born to Lillian Beatrice Harvey and George Washington Marks on the farm that was near Atwood, Logan, Colorado. Waiva only lived for a short time and passed away on the same day she was born. I don't believe there is any record of her birth or burial because she was buried on the homestead as was the custom in those days. My father, William George Marks told me about his sister, Waiva Iona when I asked him for information about his family for genealogy purposes. My mother, Katherine Irene Salyers Marks also mentioned her because she told me that Lillian Beatrice, her mother in law talked her into burying her own daughter, Deloris Irene Marks in the family burial site in Sterling by telling Katherine that Waiva was buried there so her daughter, Deloris Irene wouldn't be alone. My mother later found out that Waiva was never buried in the Riverside Cemetery, in Sterling, Logan, Colorado.
