Cloverdale Man Widely Mourned

Friends and relatives were saddened at the death of John Albert Billings at his home in CIoverdale on February 13. The deceased had been in failing health for some time.

He was born at Lower Hainesville in 1875, a son of the late Mary and Edward Billings.

Those surviving are his widow, three sons, Donald of Bridgewater, Maine; Clifton and George at home; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Harrington of Cloverdale; Mrs. Todd Fisher, and Mrs. George Paulson of Juniper; Bernice at home; one brother, Harper Billings of Lr. Hainesville, one sister, Mrs. William Wyman of Graniteville, Mass., and three grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon with Rev. O. W. Shaw in charge of the service.

A short service was held at the house followed by service at the Union Church at Cloverdale.

Pallbearers were James Orchard, Charles Furlong and Roy and John Hill.

Hymns sung were "Abide With Me," "The Old Rugged Cross"

and a solo "Good Night and Good Morning" by Lorne Britton.

The floral tributes were very beautiful including pillow, the family; wreath, Mr. and Mrs. Todd Fisher and family; spray, Mr. and Mrs. William Wyman; spray, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Billings; bouquets from Mrs. Clara Moynihan, Mrs. Lila Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Billings, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Billings and Mr. and Mrs. Ransford Chase and family; spray, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fisher.

Interment was made in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
