It has been said that this was the first settlement in Bursiljum. There is no solid evidence that this is the case, but it does not seem incredible given the southern location and the proximity to the swamp. A favorable settlement that is supposed to have been taken into use sometime in the 14th or 15th century. A long-lived family has lived here, probably only one. They have been fairly well off and there have been trustees and judges in the family. It is mentioned as the Orsas family because so many bore the name Olof. In the 1543 tax register it is mentioned that Nils Persson on homestead no. 4 has a brother. This is probably Olof Persson who himself begins to be taxed for the hunt in 1546.
1546-76. The farmer Olof Persson has 10 cows and from 1563 he has help from a son-in-law on the farm. In 1564 this farmer was convicted of delay with his church grain of 7 skylar valued at 11 öre. He was convicted of outright theft and gave the king 80 marks. On Älvsborg's Lösen [Ransom paid to the Danish] he is taxed for 10 cows, 4 sheep and a horse.
1577-1617. The farmer Erik Mårtensson. In the years 1553, 1586 and 1590 this farmer sold otter skins. In 1601 there are 6 cows and a mare in the barn. 2 1/2 barrels of grain are needed for seed. The farm is on 7 spans of land.
1610-40. Farmer Olof Eriksson. He was married in 1610 and worked on the farm, but his father was the owner. In 1623, 1627 and 1628 he was listed as a soldier (knekt). Olof Eriksson owned 1 mare, 5 cows, 1 heifer, 7 goats, 5 sheep and 1 pig.

The church accounts tell us in 1674 that Karin Eriksdotter in Bursiljum married Zachris from Andersvattnet. The groom was fined 4 daler in September of the same year for having prematurely betrothed his wife.
1666-ca. 1680. Wife Brita. Erik Olsson's wife's parents died in 1664.
