EVELYN M. HARRIS (OBITUARY SYNOPSIS)

Evelyn M. Harris York, 72, died in her home in Delta, York County, Pennsylvania, April 26, 2005.

Born February 25, 1933, Evelyn was the daughter of the late John Wesley Harris and Virgie Victoria Ament Harris. She was the wife of James Arthur "Jim" York, whom she married January 16, 1951. She moved to the Delta area in 1972 with her husband and family. She was a homemaker, loving wife, and grandmother.

Besides her parents, she was preceded her in death by her brother, Charles H. Harris.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Steven S. York, Orlando, Florida, Mark A. York, Millersville, Pennsylvania; brothers, James M. Harris, Fallston, Maryland, William R. Harris, Bel Air, Maryland, Leo L. Harris, Chincoteague, Virginia; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delta-Cardiff Ambulance Fund, Delta, Pennsylvania.

A private graveside service was held with her family at Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.
