Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Gasnier (Gagné, Ganier, and variant spellings) families who came from France, and settled in Canada and the United States. Focus is on the descendants of two brothers, Louis and Pierre Gasnier (Gagné) who were born in Inge, France. They were the sons of Louis Gagné and Marie Launay. The younger brother, Louis immigrated in 1644 to Quebec with his wife, Marie Michel and their infant daughter, Louise. They had eight more children in America. The elder brother, Pierre immigrated to Quebec in 1653 with his wife, Marguerite. Their children were Jacques and Jean (twins who died in 1648), Louis, Pierre, Nicholas, and Marguerite. Their son, Louis Gagné dit Bellavance was born in France in 1643. He married Louise Picard in 1673 at Sainte Anne de Beaupré. They had a large family of Louise died in 1717. Louise was the daughter of Jean Picard and Marie Caron. Some descendants also lived in Quebec and Manitoba (Canada), New York, and elsewhere. The CD-ROM is available in Engligh and French. It contains the 1951-1971 issues of "Gagne dit Bellavance Family Association bulletin." The CD-ROM contains a family linked, indexed data base of 140,000 names and 65,000 marriages on about 6,600 pages.
