Olof Niclas Pettersson (1851-1947) was born to Pehr Olofsson and Christina Helena Olofsdotter in Kyrkobohls, Garda, Gotland, Sweden. Olof Niclas Pettersson was a seaman and merchant. In 1880, Olof married Eugenie Marrington, the daughter of Ann Lacey and John Donnison in St. Paul's Church, Sunderland, England. They were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1885, and immigrated to America with other Mormons. Their children were Nicholas Peter, John, Ann Lacey, Eugenie, Matthew Marrington, Charles Emmanuel, and Carl Emmanuel Pettersson. In the late 1800s to early 1900s, their descendants and relatives lived in Canada, New York, and Utah. Later descendants also lived in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New York, Oregon, Texas, and elsewhere.
