Zearfoss (Zerfass)--Richards and allied families : direct line of Charlotte Irene Zearfoss, Harold Amandus Zearfoss, Sue Iola Zearfoss, Clifford Eugene Zearfoss, Harriet Elizabeth Zearfoss, Caroline May Zearfoss

Ancestral families of the author, Clifford Eugene Zearfoss, and his brothers and sisters. Their father, Harry Eugene Zearfoss (1883- 1952) was born at Alberts, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, the son of William Mendes Zearfoss (1837-1912) and Susan Fritzinger Zearfoss (1843-1915). He married Lucy Richards in 1904 at Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. They had six children, 1905-1919, born at Mountain Top. Lucy (Lottie) Charlotte Richards (1882-1864) was born at Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William Lutsey Richards (1854-1901) and Sarah Elizabeth Jackson Richards (1864- 1926). Harry Eugene and Lucy Charlotte Zearfoss both died at Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and were buried at Alberts, Pennsylvania.

Younkin family news bulletin : a tribute to our family - v. 5, no. 2 (Apr/June 1994)

Periodical for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Younkin (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Germany to America in the early 1700's. Immigrant ancestors include (but are not limited to): the brothers, Herman and Heinrich Junghen who immigrated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania; Johann Jeremias Junghen who immigrated in 1737 to Pennsylvania; and Henrich Junghen who immigrated in 1806 with his Swiss wife, Elizabeth Haines to settle in Dushore, Pennsylvania. Many Younkins settled in Pennsylvania, and moved during the 1800's to the Dakota Territory, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and New York. Later descendants also lived in Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and elsewhere.
