John McFarland (1779-1840), son of John and Jane McFarland, married Elizabeth Irwin in Ireland, ca. 1801. He and his family immigrated to America with his widowed mother and other family members, ca. 1804, and settled in Chancefore Township, York County, Pennsylvania. John and Elizabeth had at least six, maybe eleven children. The family moved to Antis (now Snyder) Township, ca. 1822. Their son, Archibald Irwin McFarland (1809-1852), married Nancy Brenneman (1811-1888) in 1835 in Snyder Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania. They had seven children, 1836-1852. John and Elizabeth McFarland and Archibald and Nancy McFarland are all buried at Birmingham, Pennsylvania.

The Ziegler family and related families in Pennsylvania

Michael Ziegler (1684-1765) immigrated in 1709 from either Switzerland or the Palatinate of Germany to Philadelphia, and settled in Skippack, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived throughout the United States.

The Kelly and Woodring families of Worth Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania

William Kelly (1755-1837), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, probably the son of James Kelly, who emigrated from Ireland, ca. 1740. After the war, he settled in Path Valley, Pennsylvania, where he married Jane Moore, daughter of William Moore, in 1783. They had a number of children, but the names of two sons, William and Robert, are the only ones recorded. The family settled in Bald Eagle Valley, Centre County, Pennsylvania, in 1786. Their son, Robert Jackson Kelly (1834-1900) married Hannah Woodring (1838-1895), daughter of Peter Woodring (1814-1881), ca. 1856.
