An account told to me (Daniel Kemper Lubben) by Lorene's daughter, Marion (also known as "Aunt Lulu", in September 2017.

Aunt Lulu told me that once when she was a girl, one day she spent some time reading her mother's diary. She was saddened to come to a realization of how difficult and sorrowful her mother's life was.

Lulu thinks her mother somehow found out that she had been reading her diary because the next day the diary disappeared and young Marion ("Marilou" or "Lulu") never saw it again.
