Professional Genealogist
Karen Auman, PhD, CGKaren Auman is a retired history professor at BYU, where she taught in both the Bachelors of History and in the Bachelors of Family History programs. She holds a PhD in History and received the BCG’s Certified Genealogist® credential in 2016.
At BYU Auman created the program’s semester-long Genetic Genealogy class and she has used those skills to help people find biological parents and break through brick walls. She also taught beginning and advanced American family history research, and research in the South.
She is the author of The Good Forest: The Salzburgers, Success, and the Plan for Georgia, published by the University of Georgia Press. Auman is also the founder of Lemon Tree Genealogy, Inc., based in Utah. (lemontreegenealogy.com.)
