Jonathan Da Silva

A lifelong scholar of both nautical and early 20th century global history, Jon turned his passion into a reality by transitioning from more than a decade in the graphic design industry to a role at the Foundation on March 4, 2017. This was a natural career choice given his love of history, ships and his deep familial ties to Ellis Island. At the History Center, Jon is able to use his expertise to assist visitors from all over the globe explore their family heritage.

Jon holds a B.A. in History from NJIT. A perpetual student, he is always looking for new ways to expand his knowledge of Ellis Island and the immigrant experience. He has curated an array of temporary exhibits displayed at the History Center, blending the immigrant experience narrative with pop culture references that all can enjoy. In his free time, he enjoys building scale model ships.
