Project Manager at FamilySearch

Jana Rasmussen

I have always loved listening to and sharing my family stories. As a child and youth, I was often called on to share family history stories with my peers. Preparing to go to college, I knew I would attend BYU and felt drawn to major in Family History / Genealogy with a minor in Family Sciences. I loved my course work focusing on British Genealogy. After my undergraduate degree, I chose to return for a masters degree in marriage and family relations. I like to joke that "I studied the family, both living and dead!" I come from a long line of teachers and have been an educator since I was a junior in college. After my masters, I spent 5 years as a lecturer faculty and then 4 years as an Extension faculty at Utah State University. I love to share my knowledge of family history through fun, energetic and interactive discussions with a focus on application.
