H.H. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi

H.H. Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al-Qasimi has a keen vision that has been emphasized with great experience in developing the strategy to create opportunities through well-advised planning; this experience is an integral part of his career.


H.H. is the Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al-Khaimah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al-Khaimah International Airport since 1997, a member of Ras Al-Khaimah Executive Council and Chairman of Ras Al-Khaimah Travel, Tourism & Cargo Agents Business Group. His hard-working ethics led him to become a member of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates for the past 24 years. Thus, his achievements have been a major part of the application of international, federal, and local civil aviation laws.


H.H. previously was the Founder and held the position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al-Khaimah Catering Company, the Chairman of Ras Al-Khaimah National Travel Agency, and a member of RAK Cooperative Society. Due to his extensive experience, H.H. played a vital role in the growth and development of the National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah as a former member of the Bank's Board of Directors and chaired several board executive committees over the past 21 years. Moreover, H.H. is also considered the most prominent figure in terms of managing international affairs as Chairman of the British Joint Committee in Ras Al-Khaimah.


H.H. holds an Executive Certificate in Government Excellence from the Thunderbird Institute of Global Management - Switzerland, 2013-2014, an Executive Certificate in Innovations in Governance from Harvard University - USA, September 2005, an Executive Certificate from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France, May 2005, an Executive MBA from the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in 2001, and Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona, Arizona State, USA in 1997. H.H. attended many local and international training courses and programs, since he has successfully completed multiple training programs on several topics, including governance.


Speaking of awards, H.H. has received many awards, as the most prominent one is the Diamond Personality of the year 2021 along with obtaining a honorary diploma in leadership. He also obtained a vast array of memberships from prestigious organizations such as the Organization of Human Rights and International Law, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Loyalty Organization and the international tolerance organizations. Moreover, H.H. received the Giving Figure Shield from Abna’a Al-Khaleej Society for Humanitarian Work among many others.



H. H’s conviction and belief in being a supportive leader to the youth of the nation by initiating programs of unsurpassable ingenuities. He also established many charitable initiatives supporting the culture, arts, theatre, cinema, environment, health, sports and education sector in order to prepare a generation capable of self-development as well as being a productive member of society’s construction. H.H. received the Inspirational Leader Award of 2021, the Social Development Leadership Medal, Leadership/ Responsibility/ Innovation International Certificate


for one of the best social leaders in the world and Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence in honor of his passionate endeavors to support and develop society.


H. H’s passion for sports led him to engage enthusiastically in the sport of fencing, not only in the United Arab Emirates but at the international level as he was proudly elected to be the President of the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) in 2021 and is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), H.H. is also the president of the Arab Fencing Federation, Founder and President of the UAE Fencing Federation and previously served as the head of the Fencing Organization Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Therefore, his crowning achievement for these efforts has been signified in the sport of fencing as it became the leading Olympic sport in the United Arab Emirates. Subsequently, this led to the well-deserved nomination of H.H. for membership of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of the United Arab Emirates.


In addition, he has been a major supporter and contributor to achieving sustainability and food security in the country, as he was the first to develop the beekeeping and breeding garden of its kind in the Middle East and the world through which he obtained the Medal of Excellence for being an important figure in sustainable investment. He received many thanks and appreciation certificates as well as medals.
