Emma Ruddy
Emma Ruddy is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Family History and Genealogy and is a passionate genealogist. She serves as a dedicated research assistant at the BYU Library Family History Center. Emma has undertaken several notable projects, including the "German Immigrants in American Church Records Project" at BYU. This project focuses on documenting important genealogical information of German immigrants with the aim of making Germanic ancestral information more accessible to the public. Additionally, she has contributed to the “Richard Horsley'' project at BYU, which strives to place copies of published family histories with the descendants of the families involved. Emma has also played a key role in various acquisitions projects at the library, ensuring the preservation of historical records for future generations. Emma has also assisted numerous patrons in recording, researching, and digitizing their family histories, making genealogical resources accessible to all. Furthermore, as a research assistant for the History Department, Emma is deeply involved in documenting the lives of prominent Norwegian immigrants. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of their historical impact on the settlement of the Western United States.
