Executive Director, International Council on Archives

Anthea Seles, PhD

Dr Anthea Seles is the Executive Director of the International Council on Archives and she is responsible for advising on the organisation's strategic direction, supporting the work of the governing committees and providing strategic advice to the senior governing officials of the organisation.

She hold a Bachelor Honours in Art History from Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada), a Masters Degree in Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, British Columbia) and a Doctorate in Records Management and Archives from the University College London (London, UK). Prior to working at ICA, she was Head of Digital Records and Transfer at the National Archives UK, where is piloted the use of machine learning in appraisal, selection and sensitivity review.
