President, Latino Roots Search

Ada Luque Nelson

Ada Luque Nelson is a native of Panama and professional genealogist with over 30 years of experience in Latin American research. Her multi-ethnic roots extend from Mexico to most of Central America and northern South America. She retired from an engineering career to work full-time in genealogy. Ada has expertise in Information Architecture and Online Information Systems. She is a family history consultant and a frequent presenter at genealogy events such as FamilySearch webinars and RootsTech. Ada is President and founder of Latino Roots Search, a non-profit subsidiary of the Hispanic Heritage Project (HHP).  She is a professional translator and co-administrator of two DNA groups. 

Ada is President and founder of Latino Roots Search, a nonprofit subsidiary of the Hispanic Heritage Project. The mission of LRS is to help Latinos become acquainted with their roots and their heritage. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband, Brent, who assists her. They have a married daughter and three precious grandchildren, to whom they dedicate this important work.
