Volunteers Writing the Stories of All 421,000 US WWII Fallen

Volunteers from all 50 states and more than a dozen other countries have embraced a goal of writing stories of everyone of the 421,000 US WWII fallen. We have those with a great interest in genealogy, those who are veterans, and those who are related to those who served in WWII. We also have teachers involving students. This presentation gives examples of how this effort is turning every cemetery and memorial into an engaging digital experience. A free smartphone app allows anyone to enter the name of any of the WWII fallen at any gravesite or memorial and read his/her story right there. Learn how to find 1940's era documents to research and write stories of those who served in WWII.
