"A Road To Hope" -- the Documentary
“A Road to Hope” is a heartfelt tribute to Jack and Jo Cunningham, as narrated through excerpts discovered in a journal dated the fall of 1943, written in their own words. This extraordinary couple, driving their 37 Ford, set out on a monumental adventure at a young age, left an indelible mark on their lives and those of their descendants. When their sons, John and Joe Cunningham, stumbled upon a meticulously detailed account of their first journey, penned by their mother “Jo,” it ignited a spark within these two adventurers. Inspired by this discovery, they embarked on a remarkable journey to document and try to replicate that trip, eighty years later to the day. Accompanied by their sister MJ Bakove and a film team from Crew Pictures, this documentary sets out to amplify the theme for RootsTech 2025 “Discover”. The documentary serves as a powerful reminder to all of us to delve into our family history, explore our heritage, and unravel the stories of the people, places, and events that shape our family tree.
